The Album Covers and Posters

After looking at the album covers and posters I can see how something creative can have an impact. I feel that The Saturdays are more of a pop band and more conventional than the other bands i analysed and this can be seen through their single cover. This is because it is a picture of the band and are taking an approach that would suggests they are more of a mainstream band than the others which take a different approach. These tend to be more creative and interesting for the audience, and also show that they are more comfortable in the industry perhaps, as they don't have to promote themselves at every chance. This is seen in Alphabeats album cover which doesn't even have the bands name on clear show and is different from most other album covers making it stand out. This automatically shows that they are quirky and represents their genre, it also, like Mika's album cover has a lot of colour which is important for my genre. There were some elements which linked the album covers together such as Mika's and The Hoosiers as they both contained images or cartoon drawings that related to songs on the album. This proved interesting as it allowed the audience to find something new every time and often added some humour. This is something i could use when making my album cover so that it isn't boring and looks more professional for the indie pop genre.
