Hoosiers Poster

This poster of the Hoosiers shows that they are nothing like a conventional band. Firstly the main singer isn't in the middle which usually occurs with most bands. Although they are looking serious this is obviously in a sarcastic way and shows the audience that the band arnt scared to laugh at themselves . They stand out from other artists and bands by having this original look that could appear boring, but is unique and gets the band noticed. This image appeals to the indie audience and even the body language of the band is humorous. Their clothing isn't modern or trendy which could reflect them and their music, they are sitting in unison, almost looking uncomfortable or nervous or almost nerdy which again has a funny element. The background outside appears to be dark with tree's which does fit in with the boarder on their album cover, and it also goes against the stereo-typical image that people in bands go out and party every night, in contrast this band is simply sitting in doing nothing. Its almost as if the band don't want to appear interesting in any aspect. It could also simply be the band been themselves, they arnt going to change themselves to be in the industry, so their fans can take them as they are.
